Cookies cannot execute programs or transfer viruses to your computer. Cookies help offer the user a more pleasant and practical experience.

We use two types of cookies, necessary cookies that improve the functionality of our website and optional cookies that make our website more user-friendly. The user data collected through cookies are not used to create user profiles. Analysis cookies are used to improve the quality of our website and its content. We learn how the website is used through the analysis of cookies and can thus constantly optimize our offer.

Legal basis and purposes of processing

We process your data exclusively based on one or more of the possible legal bases.

Personal data may be processed in particular based on a contract or for the implementation of pre-contractual measures, with consent from the visitor, based on legitimate interest or a law, and for the protection of vital or public interests.

Registration is required for the provision of certain content or services on our website. Registration is free of charge by providing your first name, last name, e-mail address, and password, which transmits your registration data to us. The collection and processing of personal data fulfill the contract of use between the user and Tech2Home.

We also use your e-mail address collected for registration or contract performance to inform you by e-mail of more services available on Tech2Home. In addition, the users’ e-mail address is used for advertising our goods and services.

On the Internet, every device requires a unique address, the so-called IP address, to transmit data. At least temporary storage of the IP address is technically necessary to enable the delivery of the website to the user’s computer. We shorten the IP addresses before any processing and only process them anonymously. No storage or further processing of the untruncated IP addresses takes place. Our servers also store your IP address for 14 days for our own security purposes.

We offer a review function on our website, whereby additional personal data is stored that you provide of your own accord. Provided you have given your consent to this, you can post comments on our website in some instances and subscribe. The same applies to surveys in which you participate. If you wish to post a comment, you must fill in the fields provided for this purpose. If you do not fill in the fields, you will not be able to publish a comment. We collect and process the data you provide in order to post your comment as requested. In particular, we also need your e-mail address to contact you in case of objections to your comment and to allow you to revise your comment.

In the case of processing operations that are not covered by one or more of the aforementioned legal bases, the processing is carried out if it is necessary for the protection of a legitimate interest and, based on a comprehensive weighing of interests, does not override your interests, fundamental rights, and freedoms. A legitimate interest can be assumed if the data subject is a customer of the controller. If the processing of personal data is based on this, our legitimate interest is in particular the conduct of our business for the benefit of the well-being of all our employees and our shareholders.

Our legitimate interest in being able to offer you customized products, to inform you about our products, innovations, and quality features, as well as to continuously improve our services and products and thereby also increase our sales, is the legal basis for processing for direct marketing (own advertising and third-party advertising), usage-based online advertising, web analysis and advertising scoring (bringing together various selection criteria for suitable advertising). In addition, our legitimate interest in fraud prevention, ensuring network and information security, and the reliability of our service provisions or products also serve as a legal basis for processing specific data.

Another legitimate interest is the functionality of the company’s operations, based on which processing is carried out for internal administrative purposes.

You can object to processing based on a legitimate interest at any time.

Transfer of your data to third parties

We only transfer your personal data to third parties if the transfer is necessary to fulfill our contractual obligations to you, and this is obviously done with or together with another provider (e.g. in the case of cooperations), we are otherwise legally entitled or obliged to transfer the data, or you have given us your consent to do so.

To provide our services, selected personal data may be communicated to certain departments or companies within the group of companies. This includes employees of the accounting, product management, marketing, and IT departments.

In certain cases, we also use external service providers or affiliated companies that are commissioned by us to process data for us in accordance with instructions. Such service providers are contractually obligated by us as processors and are not allowed to further use your data for any other purposes.

The transfer of data to processors takes place on the basis of contractual service or alternatively on the basis of our legitimate interest in the economic and technical benefits associated with the use of specialized processors.

If we are legally obliged to do so or if this is permitted under data protection law, we transmit personal data to authorities, for example, the police or public prosecutor’s office. The transfer of this data is based on our legitimate interest in combating abuse, prosecuting criminal offenses, and securing, asserting, and enforcing claims, and that your rights and interests in the protection of your personal data are not overridden.

Place of processing

We ourselves do not transfer your personal data to countries outside the United States, except in cases where it is permitted under applicable data protection law.

Existence of automated decision making

We do not use automated decision-making or profiling.

Customer account

The Tech2Home customer account (“Service”) is a central service offered and operated by Tech2Home. Tech2Home is therefore the responsible party for this service. It offers all users, after agreeing to the terms of use, the possibility to view, optimize and manage at a glance deals, bookings, orders, comparisons, and offers (“activities”) that they have carried out to date with one or more companies within the Tech2Home network.

The functions offered within the scope of the service can be adapted, extended, restricted, or discontinued by the operator at any time.

In addition to the central standard view, the Tech2Home customer account also offers users separate and thematically summarized views. In these summarized views, users are first shown further details about their existing activities with one or more companies within the Tech2Home network. Here, too, Tech2Home does not store any data but merely creates temporary detailed views of the activities of a Tech2Home customer account user, as in the standard view.

In addition, users can optionally be offered further separate products and/or services related to these activities by one or more companies within the Tech2Home network in these detailed views. However, a user is completely free to use these products and/or services or not. However, if a user decides to accept one or more of these offered products and/or services, the separately listed terms of use of the respective companies offering these products and/or services according to the terms of use shall apply. Importantly for a user is, only with a separate agreement he can use these products and/or services. For these products and/or services, which a user requests separately, the company named in the respective separate terms of use is then always the responsible entity within the meaning of the GDPR.

Separate terms of use apply to the use of the Tech2Home customer account and consequently the detailed views, which require the user’s consent and can be viewed here.
